About Us

In 2002, I C A R C H was founded by Dan Coma and later expanded with the assistance of students and young architects from Ion Mincu University of Architecture and Urban Planning, Bucharest. 

In 2021, I C A R C H acquired a railroad station building in Gara Docăneasa, Romania.  The railroad station building has begun renovations under architecture students from the area, especially Barlad.   The railroad station can be reached by car or train from Bucharest through Barlad in 4 hours.  Student contributors include Andrei Zaraf, Bogdan Botoi, Cosmin Constantin, Mara Andreescu , Ruxandra Sandovici, Stefan Nastasa and Andrei-Ionut Zota

In 2022, ICARCH, Inc was formed as a non-profit organization in the United States by three old friends from New York's "Storefront for Art and Architecture" in the 1980s - Kyong Park, Glenn Weiss and Dan Coma.  

In 2022, I C A R C H asked architects and other artists to serve as advisors.  The list is growing.  

Pronounce ICARCH:    "ik arch"         
The "ik" in ikarus / icarus / icaro and the "arch" in the brick arch.
